USA Department Of Justice Comes Under Fire For Taking Down Megaupload!

As More and More Are Speaking Out Against The Taking Down Of Megaupload By The USA Department Of Justice, For They Are Now Coming Under Fire For Being "The Prosecutor", "The Judge" And "The Jury", All Rolled Into ONE, And Closing Web Sites Down Without Due Process Of Law!

And While This May Appear To A Lot Of You Just Like What Google Has Been Doing For Years Now With Oh So Many Blogs, This One Is Different Only Because Bloggers Opening Up Free Blog(s) Through The Free Blogger Google/Blogger System Do NOT Have The Same Due Process Of Law Afforded To Them When It Comes To Google Closing A Blog, As Those On The Internet With Their Own Domain. For Google Has Its Own Terms Of Service And It Also Has The Right To Close Any Blog For Any Reason Of Their Choosing!!!

However, Megaupload Dot Com Wasn't Being Hosted By Google, It Was Just A Web Site On The Internet And Because Of This, There Has Been So, So Many Write Ups On This Story On The Internet and News Reports On The Evening News.

So Here Are A Few Of My Personal Favorites That I Found That I Think Sums Things Up Best. First Is "Megaupload Takedown: The Real Meaning" By The (Washington's Blog). Next Is, Which I Thought Was Even More Revealing And That Is "Was Megaupload takedown in response to Kim Dotcom’s upcoming iTunes competitor?" By (Geek.com). Both are well worth reading, and both well, well said on some insight on what is REALLY going on with the War about SOPA & PIPA!!!

And Last Is This Video From The Evening News, "The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur" From Current TV. Just one of so many Evening News Reporters saying the same thing about this story.

Back up lesson and drill!

All this information is located in the right side-bar under Need Some Help? On How To......

However, enough time has passed for this to be a post again. If you've never backed up your Google/Blogger blog, learn how to do so and back up every time you make a change. If you haven't backed up in a while, do it now.

Log into your blog's Dashboard:
Under Blog name==>Settings

Settings==>Export Blog==>Download Blog==>Complete Save As and Location==>Enter

If you have more than one blog I recommend you type blog's name before the Save As blog date, and if you backup more than once a day I recommend putting a time of day after Save As date.
Some computers have the download default location as desktop, I prefer using Downloads as my location.
It is not necessary to save prior blog backups so I recommend you delete old backups.

If you have never done a back up of your blog, do it now. Don't be afraid - you will do absolutely no damage to your blog. It will be just as you left it.

When Google/Blogger closes your blog down, open a new blog as usual:

Under Settings==>Import A Blog==>Choose your back up file==>Complete Word Verification==>Click Automatically publish imported posts==>Import blog

You can even practice what it's like. Open a new blog and try importing your backed up blog. If you've never done this before you'll see just how easy it is - and so much faster than going through the Volunteers who run the Blogger Help Forum.
If you choose the Help Forum, which previously I always recommended because I otherwise knew I would be deemed a trouble maker and the Gods of Google do not like trouble makers! You will be required to read article after article written to assuage every volunteer's guilt over the knowledge just how many blogs are closed for absolutely no good reason. These articles are also meant to brainwash you into believing that this is the best Google can do. Anyway, I digress. After reading all these articles, you will be required to return to your Help Forum thread, with head held low, and admit you have completed the reading assignment. (Reports have surfaced that some people lie on this point, but I would never recommend that!) If you are properly attired in sackcloth and ashes when you return to your thread, you may NOW request a review of your blog. A Top Contributor will add your blog to a very long list of blogs which need to be reviewed by the Gods of Google. (In my opinion, the Gods are slower than Hell for two reasons: one, they are grossly understaffed, and two, Google hopes so much time will pass that you will loose all desire to blog and you will fade into another realm.) However, if you insist on a Google Blogger blog, you need to learn the options they give you.

Brent is constantly telling all you Google Bloggers the importance of backing up your blog. It takes 15 seconds to do, and that's if you're really slow. Just do it 'cause Blogger's gonna get your blog one of these days.

Some of you are using outdated Browsers, such as Safari. Many outdated browsers will not be able to backup your Blogger blog. Here is a solution which will cost you no money and you will be able to back up your blog: Download Google Chrome! There are many sites to download Chrome. CNet is a trusted site and you can download Chrome here: http://download.cnet.com/Google-Chrome/3000-2356_4-10881381.html

Remember, even if you do not wish to use Chrome as your usual browser, you can still use it to backup your Blogger blog if your current browser is unable to do so.

If your blog postings are important to you, don't just sit there with your fingers crossed. Backup your blog or you'll be very sorry when you wake up one morning and you find that Google Blogger has removed it! I should know; it happened to me.

Google Joins In On Wednesday Black Out!

In cutting off access to thousands of web sites for a day, the tech industry flexed its political muscle last Wednesday with a don't-mess-with-the-Web campaign that highlighted its vast reach and how indispensable the Internet has become.

The sweeping blackout to protest federal anti-piracy bills sparked frustration and confusion Wednesday but had its intended effect — disrupting the usual flow of the Internet while mobilizing opposition among online users and lawmakers.

More than 10,000 web sites participated in the strike against the Stop Online Piracy Act and the Protect Intellectual Property Act, bills that opponents say could lead to censorship online and force some web sites out of business. Some, including Wikipedia, Reddit and Boing Boing, shut down for the day, while others such as Craigslist and Google protested by blacking out parts of their sites and urging users to sign online petitions and contact members of Congress.

Shortly after midday, Google said 4.5 million people had signed its petition. Meanwhile, Wikipedia said 5.5 million people had clicked through the blackout message on its home page for information on how to contact their local lawmakers. For more on this story please visit the Los Angles Times.

DOJ Media...in a NUT shell

Last week, by popular demand, I promised to post the history of DOJmedia.com and this blog, but I really hate wasting my time so here is a recap in a NUT shell.

DOJmedia.com first went by the site name of DOJ Media Community.

It's owner was a self-described 31 year old Wonder Woman type using the screen name of BioHazard. On January 11, 2011, she left her first comment on this blog. Brent thought she would be trouble and I didn't. Brent was right! I joined her "community" to check things out. The site's primary concern appeared to be on-line gaming, particularly one game called "Mafia Wars".
Apparently several DOJ Media members were a team and they got attacked by another team headed by a person known as Sexy Sadie.

BioHazard and her band of happy supporters got into a cat fight with Sexy Sadie. Sexy Sadie won and BioHazard closed down the thread. I just luv me a cat fight between two females, don't you?

Time passes and a few more comments were left on our blog from DOJmedia.com thanking us for the list of gay blogs, and stating how much easier it now was for her to find these blogs. Apparently she wants to shut down 200 gay blogs a week by "working closely with Google and NibbleBit". Is she going to save the world and close down as many gay pornographic blogs as possible?

To make a long story really short, DOJmedia.com mysteriously shut down, again, and re-opened as Digitally Off-Topic Journalism. In the first post she vowed to destroy us.

Brent and I were terrified. We had no idea what this Super Woman had in mind but I can assure you that much sleep was lost. In spite of our terror, we decided to publish her post on our site. Soon after, her site mysteriously went down again! Go figure! Her site going down is becoming a habit.

When her site re-opened for a day she had posted the oh-so-fabulous video which has made us oh-so popular and oh-so famous. We posted her video and mysteriously her site went down again. It is such a mystery why her site keeps going down, isn't it? Anyway, BioHazard started as a 31 year old female but when she re-opened again, she is male! I sense some confusion.
To her credit, she does give great video, and we can only hope that she continues to make more episodes of her Brent and Jeff Show. We all oh-so love this show and pray she opens an oh-so new blog devoted to nothing but the oh-so-fabulous and oh-so popular adventures of Brent and Jeff. Wouldn't y'all just oh-so-love that?

So, in a nut-shell, (and I do emphasize NUT) we have the story of a computer tech who uses a blog of closed blogs (US!) in order to find blogs to close. Since she has partnered oh-so-closely with the oh-so-legal departments of Google and NibbleBit, she is not oh-so-able to oh-so-discuss her mission in any detail because the information is an oh-so-closely guarded oh-so-TOP oh-so-SECRET!

So there. I am oh-so-over talking about her.....at least for the oh-so-fabulous moment!

If you get in Google's cross-hairs, usually one of two things will happen:

only your blog will be suspended,

your entire account (G-mail, Blogger, Picasa, etc) will be suspended.

If your blog is currently open take a few minutes to complete the following steps BEFORE your account is suspended:

Open 2 NEW Gmail accounts and 1 NEW Yahoo mail account.
Go to your ORIGINAL blog's Settings==>Permissions==>Add Authors
INVITE the three new accounts you created in step #1.
From each new account, ACCEPT the invitation to author. You will be required to log into your blogger account so open a new dummy blog for each new account.
Go back to your original blog's==>Settings==>Permissions==>Author and click GRANT ADMIN PRIVILEGES

Now you can still access your original blog from any of the new accounts, even if Google Blogger suspends your original account.

And as the referrals grew and grew over the following months, it was getting harder and harder for New Blogs that were Listing Us to get into the top 100 Referral List, so that is when We added the Last (25) Referrals List to help those Blog Owner's be seen. With that said, since there are more and more inactive Blogs now within Our Top 100 Referral List that are just waiting to be over taken by more current active Blogs, I'm thinking that on December 31st that if I just reset all referrals to zero and on January 1st, STARTING A NEW TOP 100 REFERRAL LIST for the New Year, this will give all Our Current Active Blog Blog Owner's a much more equal roll within Our Top 100 Referral List for all Our 2,000+ a day Visitor's to see a New Current List, rather than the one they see now!!

And while I was planning on setting up a poll for all of You to vote on this matter, however, I have found that voting Polls on Blogs just don't work, for hardly any of YOU ever VOTE! So If YOU STRONGLY Disagree with this Plan, then Post a Comment!!! If You Agree With this Plan, then Post A Comment. How To Turn Off Light Box When Visiting A Blog!!!

While We have covered this in the past, "How To Turn Off Light Box", it was directed to Only Blog Owner's. However, We have received an e-mail this week from a Blog "VISITOR" by the name of John, that was wanting to know how to turn it off when visiting any Google Blog that still had it still turn on. And while I thought this was covered within Our Comments on this matter, John missed it, so my thinking is that just maybe many others of You may have missed this also and don't know What To Do, or How To Do It???

With this said, thought it would be most helpful to You, like John, to tell you how to By-Pass LightBox when ever visiting a Google Blog that still has it turned ON! And while I don't know why any Google Blog Owner would, for it is a total pain in the you know what, but if they still do, this is how to bypass it....

Rather than doing a single "Left" Click on any photo on a Blog with Lightbox still turn ON, which starts Lightbox, if you just do a single "RIGHT" CLICK on the Photo and then select from the drop download Menu, "Open In New Tab", this well TOTALLY BY-PASS LightBox and the photo that Your wanting to see will be within the New Tab! You will not only be able to see the original Photo at it's full size, but You will also be able to download the Photo to Your hard drive and Lightbox will never even begin to started!!! Doesn't mater whether You have a PC or a MAC and doesn't matter what Browser Your Using, this should work for You! Hoping this is of a help to You, like John! And Blogger Hugs To All and So Sorry We missed this in Our First Go Around On This Matter For All Of YOU!
