Hey Fellow Google Blog Owner's, well I have already received a couple of e-mails asking me where I found the "This Blog Has Survived On Google Blogger For..." Gadget that I have just recently installed on all my Google Blogs underneath the "Counter Of Shame". So I figured it would be better to do a posting about it, rather than having to answer so many e-mails, so here is the scoop on this one. First of all, there a many calendar clock counters on the Net, however the ones I were finding only showed days, hours, minutes and seconds and I wanted something that showed years, months and days and I was about to give up when I found that someone had written some simply Java Script that would do the counting. So to make a long story short, I didn't find a Survival Gadget, I created one myself with the script I found. So if you want to let Your Google Blog Fans know how long YOUR Blog has survived like this one....

And paste it into a HTML/JaveScript gadget. And change the "new Date(2009,07,15)" that I have highlighted in red to the date of the first posting on Your Blog. Note that JaveScript counts months for zero through 11, not 1 through 12 so subtract 1 from your starting month. The date must be in the format of (YYYY,MM,DD). The font will be whatever the default font within your sidebar is, along with the background color so this should look good on any Blog. And of course, if you have the "Counter Of Shame" installed on your Blog, I think this new gadget looks best right underneath it.
